PROJECT VALUE $1 million

The brief was to create a 3 bedroom home with natural daylight throughout, a home that the clients can breath in. A challenge when the site is only 5m wide.

We designed a new 2 storey extension to the rear of this existing workers cottage within the South Yarra Heritage Precinct. The existing cottage facade was carefully and respectfully restored.

We decided early that the living zones needed to be at first floor level, this way we could provide an abundance of daylight. One of the main features is the 5m high steel framed window at the end of the room.

The building now accommodates at ground level a master bedroom suite with WIR & en-suite, powder room, laundry, 2 further bedrooms, main bathroom & office. 1 parking space to rear off laneway.

The first floor incorporates open plan living, dining, kitchen with alfresco area and north views over the rooftops to the city. we also cleverly incorporated a butlers style kitchen under the existing cottage roofline.
